The Mr B's Bookshop

A mix of book chat and author conversations run from Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights, an independent bookshop in Bath, England. We begin with the books we're currently reading and let them guide us into the biggest and smallest of ideas: the niche, the essential, the wide-ranging.

In our first Mr B’s Guests episode Jess talks to Katrine Marçal, feminist journalist and author of Who Cooked Adam Smith’s Dinner – a brilliantly witty and eye-opening look at the myth of ‘economic man’ and how this character shapes the world we live in. Earlier in the year Katrine visited the bookshop for a sold-out event. Here she tells us about which feminist writers have inspired her, the imaginative new titles of her book in different languages around the world, and the not-so-obvious importance of Winnie The Pooh for a book on economics.
